A lead record is more useful when it shows both how soon you should act and how close the deal is to closing. Priority, status, deal stage and value answer different questions. Update them as you learn more about the opportunity.
Set the priority
- 1Open Leads and select the business.
- 2Choose the priority control beside the lead name.
- 3Select Hot, Warm or Cold. Use Hot for an opportunity needing attention soon, Warm for an active possibility and Cold for a longer-term prospect.
Priority is your assessment, not a score calculated by LeadMapper. You can also select several leads on the Leads page and change their priority together.
Move the deal forward
Use the lead’s status to show its place in the pipeline: New, Contacted, Qualified, Proposal, Negotiating, Won or Lost. The deal stage stepper gives a second view of progress through Discovery, Demo, Evaluation, Decision and Closed. Select the appropriate step as the conversation develops. If you choose Closed, select Won or Lost. You can reopen a lead later if circumstances change.
Enter value, probability and expected close
- 1In the lead’s metrics row, select Est. value and enter the amount you expect from the deal.
- 2Select Probability and enter your estimated chance of winning, from 0% to 100%.
- 3Select Expected close and choose the date you expect a decision.
LeadMapper calculates weighted value from estimated value × probability. For example, a $2,000 opportunity at 50% probability has a $1,000 weighted value. This is a planning figure, not a prediction. Marking a lead Won sets probability to 100%; Lost sets it to 0%.
Add tags for your own groups
Open the Tags panel to add labels such as “North territory”, “Website project” or “Q4”. Enter tags separated by commas and save. Remove a tag when it no longer applies. Tags help you filter your pipeline later.
