Business data extraction

Google Maps
scraper for clean
business lists.

Extract business names, listed phone numbers, websites, ratings and review counts from Google Maps. Search by business type and location, remove duplicate listings within each search, then filter and export to CSV or JSON. Save your shortlist to the lead pipeline for follow-up.

From Maps listings to usable data

What is a Google Maps scraper?

A Google Maps scraper turns business listing results into structured records you can review, filter and export. LeadMapper brings those details into one table, saving you from copying each listing into a spreadsheet.

Search for the businesses relevant to your work, whether that means dentists in Manchester, plumbers in Denver or accountants in Sydney. This online Google Maps extractor combines business discovery, list cleanup and export in a browser-based workflow. You choose the market; LeadMapper collects the available listing details and gives you a list to work from.

  • Search your market

Choose a business type and location to build a list for the area you want to reach.

  • Get listed contact details

Bring business names, addresses, phone numbers and websites together in one results table.

  • Clean and filter the list

Remove duplicate listings within each search, then narrow the results to the businesses you need.

  • Export or save your shortlist

Download a CSV for your spreadsheet, or save selected businesses as leads to manage follow-ups.

No-code Google Maps scraping

How to scrape Google Maps with LeadMapper.

Go from a business type and location to an organised list in three steps. There’s no code to write and no Chrome extension to install.

  1. 01Step 1 of 3

Choose a business type and location

Enter the kind of business you want to find and the place you want to search. For example, use “dentists” and “Manchester, UK”. Start with a clear category and a defined area so the resulting list fits your research or prospecting task.

  2. 02Step 2 of 3

Select how much of the area to search

Use a single search for results around one point, or choose grid search to collect listings from multiple points across the area. Adjust the grid and radius to your target location. Review the estimated credits before you start the scrape.

  3. 03Step 3 of 3

Review, filter and export your results

Check the extracted business details in the results table. Duplicate listings within the search are removed. Filter by category, rating or whether a phone or website is listed, then export your shortlist as CSV. You can also export the whole search as CSV or JSON, or save selected rows as leads.

What the scraper extracts

Business details you can extract from Google Maps.

Get business names, listed phone numbers, websites, addresses, ratings and review counts in one table. Available categories, hours and listing links add context, so you can check relevance before exporting or saving a lead.

Wider search coverage

Find more businesses across your target area.

A single Google Maps search starts from one point. Grid search repeats the query from multiple points across your chosen area, helping you discover listings further from the centre.

How grid search works →
  1. 01

Lay a grid over the area

Choose a grid from 2×2 to 10×10 search points and a radius that fits your target location. Review the estimated credits before running the search, so you can choose the coverage that suits your task.

Up to 100 points · 0.5–10 km radius
  2. 02

    Search from every point

LeadMapper runs the same business search from points across the selected area. Searching from more locations can surface listings away from the centre and give you a broader set of businesses to review.

Multiple search points, one combined list
Less list cleanup

Get one row per business within each search.

Overlapping search points can find the same Google Maps listing more than once. LeadMapper identifies repeated listings and merges them into one result within that search, so you have fewer duplicate rows to review or remove in your spreadsheet.

In this example, three points find the same dental practice, but the combined list keeps one row. Duplicate removal uses the listing identity; separate branches or different listings can remain separate. If you run a new search later, its results remain a separate list.

Overlapping points → one result
Build a relevant shortlist

Filter your results before you export.

A scrape of a whole area comes back long. The results screen narrows it: every filter shows how many businesses it would leave, so you can see the shortlist forming before you commit to it.

  • Tick a search or a category to keep the list relevant to your offer.
  • Set a rating floor, then sort by review count to find the established businesses.
  • Ask for a phone number for a call list, or no website listed for a web design pitch.
  • Export the rows you are left with, without the rest of the search.

Export Google Maps data to CSV or JSON.

Turn extracted business listings into a file you can work with. Export an entire search as CSV or JSON, or download just the rows matching your filters as CSV.

Open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets to organise and review your list. You can also import it into a CRM that accepts a compatible CSV, mapping the columns that system needs. JSON keeps the whole-search data in a structured format for custom workflows.

  • CSVThe whole search, or just your filtered rows. Opens in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • JSONThe whole search as structured data for your own scripts and tools.
  • LEADSKeep selected businesses in your pipeline with tasks, notes and call logs.

Preview the spreadsheet columns in the sample above, or download the same example to inspect the file before requesting access. It holds the full set of export columns, left blank where the example shows no value.

From extracted data to action

Put your business list to work.

Use your Google Maps business list for prospect research, territory planning or a closer look at the local market. Start with a relevant list, then decide which businesses deserve further attention.

Agency prospecting

Review local businesses, their listed websites and contact details before deciding who to approach. Web agencies can start with the “no website listed” filter, then research each prospect to understand whether their services would be relevant.

B2B territory lists

Find the business categories your team sells to in a target location. Filter the results, review available phone numbers and export a territory list for sales research. The same workflow can support consultants, suppliers and local service providers.

Local market research

Compare the categories, locations, ratings and review counts in your results. Use the extracted business data to organise further research and identify listings to investigate. Returned results are a sample of available listings, rather than a complete market census.

Built-in lead pipeline

Keep selected businesses in LeadMapper’s built-in lead pipeline. Add tasks, notes and call logs so you can track your own follow-ups as a lead progresses. Saving a listing gives you a place to manage the relationship; outreach stays in your hands.

Plan your search

See estimated credits before you run a search.

LeadMapper shows the estimated credits before a scrape starts. Each credit brings in up to 20 businesses, and a search keeps going until the area runs out, so a wider grid or a busier area uses more. Check the estimate when choosing the coverage for your task.

Explore plans and how credits work →
Before you run

Start with a defined area

Choose a business type and location that match your goal. Start with a smaller grid, review the first results, then widen the coverage from there.

Expect results to vary

Unique results depend on the category, area and listings available. More search points improve coverage, but no search guarantees every business.

FAQ

Google Maps scraper questions, answered.

What business information can I extract from Google Maps?

LeadMapper extracts business names, addresses, listed phone numbers and websites, ratings and review counts. Categories, opening hours, price range, service options, open or closed status, the Google Maps link and coordinates are also available when returned. Missing information stays blank.

Can I scrape Google Maps without coding or a Chrome extension?

Yes. LeadMapper is an online Google Maps scraping tool you use in your browser. Choose a business type and location, select single or grid search, and review the credit estimate before starting. No coding, scripts or Chrome extension installation is required.

How many business listings can a search return?

There is no fixed result total. It depends on the business type, location, search coverage and available listings. A grid searches from multiple points and can find more businesses than a single point, while duplicate removal reduces overlapping results. No search guarantees every business in a city.

How does LeadMapper remove duplicate listings?

The same listing can appear at neighbouring search points. LeadMapper uses the listing identity to keep one result within that search. Separate branches or different listings may remain separate, and duplicate removal does not automatically merge all the results from searches run at different times.

Can I filter businesses with no website listed?

Yes. Filter on whether the returned listing includes a website, then combine that with category, minimum rating or phone availability. “No website listed” describes the returned data; the business may have a site elsewhere. Explore the no-website workflow.

Can I open the results in Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Export the whole search or your filtered rows as CSV, then open the file in Excel or import it into Google Sheets. LeadMapper also supports whole-search JSON export for structured data workflows. Excel compatibility comes through CSV rather than a native XLSX download.

Does LeadMapper extract email addresses?

Automatic email discovery and email verification are not part of the current scraper. LeadMapper returns listed phone numbers and website links when available, which you can use for further contact research. A returned website link does not mean the platform has extracted an email address from that website.

How current and complete is the listing data?

Information reflects the listing data returned when the search runs. Some details may be missing or outdated, and LeadMapper does not independently verify every contact detail. Ratings, hours and open or closed status are search-time information; stored results are not a continuously updating live feed.

How are search credits estimated?

You see the estimated credits before starting. Each credit brings in up to 20 businesses, and a search keeps collecting until the area runs out, using at most 15 credits a search point. A grid runs one search at each point, so wider coverage and busier areas use more. It is an estimate of search usage rather than a guaranteed price per business. See plans and how credits work.

Is LeadMapper affiliated with Google?

No. LeadMapper is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google.
