A LeadMapper search starts with a business type and a place. For a first run, choose a narrow example you can recognise, such as “dentists” in your town. You can then check that the results fit before covering a larger area.
Open New search and choose Single
Sign in and open New search. The Search mode cards show Single, Grid and, when enabled for your workspace, Bulk. Choose Single for this first run. It searches from one point and pages through the available listings. Grid and Bulk require a paid plan or a credit pack.
Enter a business type and location
- 1In Search query, enter a business type, such as dentists, plumbers or cafés. A specific type makes the list easier to judge than a broad query such as businesses.
- 2In Location, enter a suburb, town, city or postcode. Pick a suggested place if one appears. Include a region or country when the place name could mean more than one location.
- 3Check the location status below the field. If LeadMapper cannot place it on the map, correct the spelling, add a postcode or use Locate to try again.
- 4Check Country. It may be inferred from the location; choose it yourself if the place or postcode is ambiguous.
Check the preview before spending credits
The map shows the search centre. Mission plan shows the number of points, estimated credits, balance, possible result ceiling and estimated duration. These are planning figures, not a promise of how many businesses you will find. A Single search uses one point; the number of credits depends on how many result pages it collects and the limit on your account.
If the location looks wrong, fix it before starting. If the estimate is more than you want to use, begin with a smaller search or review plans and credits.
Start the search and open the results
- 1Select Start search. If LeadMapper asks you to confirm a large search, read its maximum credit figure before confirming.
- 2The run opens in Jobs. Watch the progress, businesses found and credits used. You can leave the page while it runs.
- 3Open the run’s results or go to Results to see businesses from your searches together.
- 4Open one business to check its phone, website, address and listing details. This tells you whether your query found the kind of prospect you intended.
What to do after the first run
If the list is useful but thin across a large area, try a grid search. If it contains too many poor fits, refine the business type or filter the results. Keep your first search as a baseline; you can reopen or reuse it from Jobs.
