The business listing and your contact person are different things. A listing may provide a general business number, while the Contact panel holds the person you have identified for the opportunity. Add a name and direct details as soon as you confirm them.

Open the Contact panel

  1. 1Go to Leads and open the business you are working on.
  2. 2Find Contact on the lead page and choose Edit.
  3. 3Enter the contact’s name and title or role. Add a direct phone number and email address if you have them.
  4. 4Save the changes and check the panel for the updated details.

If there is no direct contact number, the record can show the business phone as a fallback. Check which number you are using before you call. You can leave fields empty when the information is unknown and return to fill them in after a conversation.

Keep the person’s details current

Return to Edit if the contact changes role, gives you a better number or asks you to use another email. Use the email link on the lead page when an address is available. Sending an email from your mail app does not automatically create a LeadMapper activity: log the email so the timeline stays useful.

Record what happened next

After a call or reply, add a short activity with the outcome and any commitment. If a colleague needs to act later, create a task with a due date. This keeps the Contact panel focused on who the person is and the timeline focused on what happened.

Check the sourceA business phone or email shown on a listing may be a general enquiry channel. Confirm a person’s direct details before treating them as your main contact.
