LeadMapper’s activity area is a record of contact that happened. Logging a call or email does not place a phone call or send a message. Use it after the conversation so you and your team can see what was said and what needs to happen next.
Open the lead and choose an activity type
Go to Leads, open the lead and find the activity composer. Choose Call, Email or Meeting. Note is available for information that is not a contact event; notes can be pinned and do not update the last-contact date.
Record a call with its outcome
Choose Call, then Outbound or Inbound. Write a short summary in your own words: who you spoke to, what they need, any objection and what they agreed to do. You can add duration in minutes and choose an outcome. Select Log call to save the activity.
Record an email or meeting
For Email, choose the direction, add a subject and summarise the useful part of the message. For Meeting, record the people involved, decisions and next action; duration and outcome are available. Save with Log email or Log meeting. The activity appears in the lead timeline and updates last contact.
Write a summary someone else can act on
- Record the decision or objection, not a transcript.
- Name any agreed deliverable or date.
- Avoid claiming a conversation happened when you only tried to reach the person.
- Keep private information relevant to the sales work and follow your organisation’s data practices.
Set the next action separately
An activity explains what happened. A task says what you need to do next. After logging contact, create a follow-up task with a due date, and move the lead to the appropriate status if the opportunity has progressed. The timeline then gives you both the history and the plan.
