How to run a bulk search across postcodes or suburbs

Bulk search repeats one business query across many areas, one after another. It suits a sales territory defined by postcodes or suburbs. LeadMapper combines the run’s businesses and removes duplicates from its export.

Set the business type and country

1. 1Open Bulk search from New search.
2. 2In Search query, enter one business type, such as electricians. Bulk uses the same term for every area.
3. 3Choose Country. Bulk areas come from the postcode data for that country.

Choose how to supply the areas

In How to pick the areas, choose Around a place to find areas near a centre, or Postcodes & suburbs to enter your own list. A list can include postcodes separated by commas, one area per line, numeric postcode ranges or suburb names. Check unmatched entries before you continue.

Around a place always searches suburb by suburb, which is what most people expect from a search around a centre. When you enter your own list, you also choose One search per Postcode or Suburb: Postcode usually means fewer searches, while Suburb searches each suburb within a postcode separately, which can be more thorough and use more credits. The preview recalculates as you change it.

Review the map, list and estimate

Switch the preview between Map and List. Confirm every included area belongs in your territory, and leave out any you do not need. Mission plan shows the number of areas, estimated credits, balance, result ceiling and approximate duration. These are planning figures; actual results and time can differ.

Start and monitor the bulk run

Choose Start bulk search after checking the estimate. LeadMapper searches the included areas in order. Open the run from Jobs to see progress and saved results. You can export the combined list when results are available and your account allows export.
