How to set an exact search centre with coordinates
Use latitude and longitude to place a LeadMapper Single or Grid search at an exact map point, then check the preview and estimate.

A place name usually gives LeadMapper a useful search centre. Coordinates are helpful when you need the centre on a particular street, industrial estate or border between suburbs. They set the centre; Grid size and radius still decide how widely a Grid search spreads.
When an exact centre helps
- The suggested centre for a large city sits too far from the part you sell into.
- Your territory is based on a known map point, such as a client office or retail strip.
- A place name resolves ambiguously, but you know the correct latitude and longitude.
Enter latitude and longitude
- 1Open New search. Enter your Search query and a Location label so the job is easy to recognise later.
- 2Open Advanced, then Custom coordinates.
- 3Enter the latitude and longitude in their separate fields. You can also paste a “lat, lng” pair into either field and LeadMapper will split it.
- 4Check the values: latitude must be within the map’s supported range and longitude within the world’s longitude range.
- 5Inspect the map preview. It should centre on the exact point you supplied.
The coordinate fields override the located centre while they contain a valid pair. If you want LeadMapper to use the place name again, choose Clear in Custom coordinates.
Check the search footprint
For Single, the point is the search origin. For Grid, choose the grid size and adjust Radius from centre while watching the map. Do not use a coordinate to compensate for a grid that is too wide or too small: the point and the spread solve different problems.
Review the plan and start
The search summary notes when a custom centre is in use. Check Mission plan for the number of points, estimated credits and balance, then start the run. Open the job afterwards to see where results were found.
